The NAU7802 is a 24-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) made by Nuvoton Technology Corporation. It is intended for precise measuring applications such as weigh scales, industrial process control, and medical instruments. The NAU7802 has a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V and a programmable VDDA regulator with eight settings that may be adjusted between 2.4V and 4.5V. It also has a 10mA output drive capability at 3.0V output voltage.
The NAU7802 is a 23-bit effective precision ADC with simultaneous 50Hz and 60Hz rejection up to -90dB. It also contains a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) with gains ranging from 1 to 128. The NAU7802 has a low RMS noise of 50nV in 10 SPS data output rate and PGA gain = 128 and 150nV in 80 SPS data output rate with PGA gain = 128. The ADC includes an external differential reference voltage range of 0.1V to 5V and a customizable ADC data output rate.
Additional characteristics of the NAU7802 include on-chip calibration, an on-chip power-on reset circuit, an on-chip temperature sensor, and configurable power management choices with less than 1uA standby current. The ADC may be operated through a 2-wire interface that is compatible with the I2C standard and can function in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C. It is available in SOP-16 (150mil) and PDIP-16 packages.
